The ChemTeach Project Has Officially Started

The Erasmus+ partnership project of the University of Banja Luka "Improvement of the quality of chemistry teaching in VET in Bosnia and Herzegovina - ChemTeach" was officially opened at the first working meeting held on the 21 and 22 February 2024 at the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology of the Slovak Technical University of Bratislava.

The Slovak Technical University is the coordinator of the project, and as to the implementation of the ChemTeach project, in addition to the University of Banja Luka and partners from Slovakia, five secondary schools, in which chemistry is an important subject, participate in the teaching process.

Those are the Middle School of Chemistry of Bratislava and the Upper Secondary School of Chemistry from the Czech city of Pardubice, and three schools from Banja Luka – Grammar School, School of Medicine and School of Technology.

The goal of the project is to improve the teaching of chemistry over the next three years through teacher education and training, workshops for teachers and students, and the creation of manuals with digital teaching materials that will contribute to the competence of teachers and enable the improvement and modernization of university teaching for future chemistry professors.

At the meeting in Bratislava, the University of Banja Luka team was represented by the Chemistry Study Programme teaching assistants of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Sanja Pržulj, Dragana Gajić and Dejana Savić. At the meeting, the plan for the implementation of activities in the first year of the project was presented.
