An Annual Exhibition of Works by Students of the Academy of Arts Has Opened

On 16 June 2021, Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, opened the 20th annual exhibition of works by students of the Academy of Arts.

Gajanin expressed satisfaction with the hard work of students, professors and teaching assistants.

,,Their works of art are recognized not only in our country, but also in the region and worldwide. Wherever our artists participate, they receive prestigious and some of the most valuable awards. In that light, they will have the support of the Academy and the University", Gajanin said.

He announced that with the support of the relevant ministry and the Government of the Republic of Srpska, the plan is to finish the building of the Student Cultural Centre of the University, where the next such exhibition could be organized.

Minister of Education and Culture Natalija Trivić, PhD, said that this exhibition shows that the Republic of Srpska has people and artists who inspire with talent and artistic expression.

Dean of the Academy of Arts at the University of Banja Luka Dragana Purković Macan, MA, said that the exhibition shows that students worked hard last year despite the difficult situation due to the coronavirus pandemic.

At this traditional exhibition, 140 works of students from the study programmes of Fine Arts, specializations - Painting, Graphics, Intermediate Art, Graphic Design, Animation, Photography and Methodology of Fine Arts were presented. The best students were awarded prizes and the many visitors enjoyed the pieces of art.

The exhibition is set up and can be visited at four locations - the building of the Rectorate and the Academy of Arts, in the barracks of the Academy of Arts, as well as the premises of the Academy of Arts across from the Faculty of Philology and the Faculty of Philosophy.
