Meeting of the Rector and the Public Affairs Officer at the Embassy of the United States of America

Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, talked with the Public Affairs Officer at the Embassy of the United States of America in BiH Allyson Algeo on 26 February 2020.

According to the rector, the faculties at the University can cooperate with higher education institutions from the USA. According to him, the cooperation can be achieved by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Technology and faculties of social sciences and humanities. 

,,We are also interested in having lecturers from America give lectures at our University and to activate the international exchange of professors, assistants and students’’, Rector said, recalling that one of the strategic goals of the University is international cooperation.

According to the rector, there is also a possibility for cooperation in the field of science and in other fields.

Rector Gajanin mentioned the cooperation of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Banja Luka and the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska with the Mejo Clinic as an example of good cooperation with America. He also spoke highly about the long-standing cooperation between the Faculty of Philology of our University and higher education institutions from the United States of America, and thanked the Embassy, which has been providing selfless support to the Faculty for years.

At the meeting, Allyson Algeo thanked the University for its long-standing cooperation, which, according to her, has lasted for 25 years, and stated that U.S. Ambassador to BiH Eric Nelson is committed to cooperating with the institutions of higher education. 

During the meeting, they talked about the scholarship program from the Fulbright Student Program, activities related to the engagement of senior lecturers in English at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Banja Luka, as well as other important topics in the field of higher education, and cooperation between the Embassy and the University. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the cooperation and expressed their readiness to continue the cooperation in the future. 

The meeting was on behalf of the University of Banja Luka also attended by Vice Rector for Human and Material Resources Prof. Dalibor Kesic, PhD, and Dean of the Faculty of Philology Prof. Petar Penda, PhD.
