In the introductory part of the seminar, all the present were adressed by academic Prof. Dragoljub Mirjanic, the Vice-Rector of the University in Banja Luka, Prof. Simo Jokanovic, and the Chair of this year's seminar, Prof. Ivan Yatchev, the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Technical University of Sofia. They pointed out the importance of organizing one such convention in Banja Luka, above all because the young engineers from this area encounter various challenges when it comes to the manner and possibilities of acquiring knowledge, especially in practice, and making career advancements.

During the seminar, through lectures and discussions, the possible solutions for many issues were offered, such as to which point the curricula and course of education in this country differ from those in other European countries; what the learning outcomes of the young engineers at the end of their studies are; what should be changed in the education process so that the young experts are as preapared as possible to answer the requirements of the labour market; and, what the possibilities of further specialization and employment are.

All the presentations and papers given at this year's seminar are going to be published, and, according to the organizers, the activities discussed during this seminar are going to be continued through the international scientific and expert conference ''Innovation and Entrepreneurship – the initiators of development and employment'', which is being held on 19 September 2014 at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka.
