Lecturer/Associate (practicals)
Prerequisite Form of prerequisites
The condition for attending the course is as follows: passed exam of Architectural constructions 1 and Architectural constructions 2, and attended on Architectural constructions 3 (min. 80% of the attendance of lectures) and the threshold realized in the exercises from Architectural constructions 3. Student must have min. 25.5 points from graphic works on exercises from Architectural constructions 3, which includes student`s attendance (min. 80%).
Learning objectives
The objective of the course is to familiarize students with contemporary principles and methods of designing materials for building wooden and steel constructions. Teaching, dedicated to wooden buildings, includes the examination and application of the system of wooden constructions, facade and interior walls of wooden construction, stairs and other architectural elements of timber. Treatment of materialization of multi-storey buildings with steel skeleton construction includes facades made of light prefabricated elements - curtain wall system, interior light prefabricated walls and suspended ceiling systems.
Learning outcomes
Prior to coming to the exercise, students need to get to know the problem that is being addressed in the exercises, through attendance at lectures and studying the recommended literature. After completing this course, students will be able to implement wooden and steel construction systems without the application of static calculation, with approximation calculations. The student will design construction and architectural grounds, cross-sections, layouts and typical technical details of administrative buildings, shopping malls or department stores, buildings requiring larger constructive spans (more than 6 m) and different facade materialization possibilities on the steel skeleton building. For wooden skeleton buildings, the calculation of construction and the design of constructive and architectural grounds, cross-sections, layouts and typical technical details will be developed over housing grounds, with smaller constructive spans (unto to 6 m), spans with full-cut wood.
Content
Wooden buildings - classification; Chalet and bonding systems; Wood skeleton buildings - construction systems; Plans of installation; Details of the connection of constructive elements; Panel systems - installation plans; System of internal and facade panels; Details of the connection - facade and foundation, floor and ceilings; Wooden stairs; Cellular systems; Analysis of examples of wooden buildings; Buildings with a steel construction; Types of steel profiles; Types of construction system; Intermediate and roof ceiling; Plans of installation; Horizontal forces; Fire protection; Wall curtain - classification; Analysis of types and details; Lightweight prefabricated walls; Prefabricated suspended ceilings; Analysis of examples of buildings with steel construction and wall-curtains.
Teaching Methods
Lectures, interactive classes and exercises - graphic works, consultations. Learning and independent production of graphic works.

Evaluation and grading
Two independent graphic works, including student`s activity, are scored in total with a maximum of 50 points (maximum 25 points for each graphic work). The exam is rated with a maximum of 50 points. A passing grade is obtained if you collectively accumulate up to 51 points. Attendance continued at least 80%, done and rated graphic works (total of 2 graphic works with max. 50 points), cumulatively rated with minimum 51% of max. number of points (ie 25.5 points from 2 graphic works). A student who is unjustifiably absent from teaching more than 20% and does not pass at exercises min. 25.5 points, must renew the listening of the subject.
Specific remarks
Exercises take place in groups. Before the start of each exercise, students are provided with a detailed program for each graphic work, the content of the graphic work, and the conditions and deadlines for receiving graphic works.
