The Faculty of Medicine obtained international accreditation

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Banja Luka got an international accreditation for the Study program Medicine, in accordance with the standards of the World Federation for Medical Education.

The accreditation was issued by the internationally recognized Hungarian Accreditation Commission (MAB), for a period of 6 years. 

This success is a significant step forward in further internationalization of the Faculty of Medicine and the University, and strengthening of their position in the European and global space of higher education. Additionally, the accreditation confirms the quality and competence of graduate students of medicine.

Besides the confirmation about fulfilling the World Federation for Medical Education standards, the decision contains concrete recommendations for further advancement of study programs quality, which is a stimulation for continuous development and strengthening of the quality assurance system in all segments of work of the Faculty of Medicine.

At the end of 2024, the Faculty of Medicine applied for the accreditation, and in the course of 2025, a comprehensive procedure of self-evaluation was conducted. Last November, the international commission visited the Faculty, interviewed the management, teaching and administrative staff, students, and representatives of health care institutions, and gained insight into the teaching infrastructure, clinical bases, laboratories, and other accompanying resources.
