University of Banja LukaGeneral-

The Chemistry Study Programme team at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Banja Luka, is the winner of this year’s award for scientific accomplishments.

This is the third time that this award went to the chemists from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. They are awarded by the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska, which published the incentive prize competition in 2020.

„The criteria for this award are very clear, where global visibility of scientists through their participation in international projects, international mentorships and international monographs published by renowned world publishing houses is taken into account“, it was published on the webpage www.hemija.pmf.unibl.org.

An additional criterion, which the Chemistry Study Programme is especially proud of, is cooperation with the corporate. Namely, in 2020, the team applied for two corporate projects in this category, with the companies "Bentoprodukt" from Šipovo and "Destilacija" from Teslić, which aim to develop new products in these companies.

In addition to researchers, students of both cycles of the Chemistry Study Programme were also engaged in the implementation of these projects, which only adds to the value of the cooperation achieved.

In addition to the award for the most successful team, individual awards were also presented.

Namely, at the Competition for Encouraging Scientific Productivity in International Reference Journals and Awarding for Scientific Accomplishments in 2020, also organized by the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska, professors and teaching assistants at the Chemistry Study Programme were awarded.
