Two First Awards Went to the Students of the Faculty of Law

Students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Banja Luka, Anita Granolic and Teodora Saraba, won the first awards at the 28th Oratory Festival „Sirmium Lux Verbi – Sirmium the Light of the Word“ held on 1 September 2019 in Sremska Mitrovica. 

At Žitni Square, in the restored site of ancient excavations in Sremska Mitrovica, the competitors had the opportunity to compete for the main award of the Wreath of Oratory, a copy of the statuette of an orator of the 2nd century AD, but also other valuable awards.

The Faculty of Law third year student at the University of Banja Luka Anita Granolic, won the first award in the category of author’s oratory, while the four year student Teodora Saraba won the first award of the Jelkic Law Firm Award in the Ex tempore category. Furthermore, the Faculty of Law senior student Mirjana Milasinovic got a special certificate of gratitude from the organizers for having participated in this festival for many years and for her loyalty thereof. 

The Faculty of Law students of the University of Banja Luka, who took part in this festival, are members of the ,,Institutio Oratoria“ Oratory and Rhetoric Center, founder and head of which is Professor Nikola Mojovic, PhD, who was also one of the members of the jury at the Festival. The students were prepared by the assistants Olivera Sevo, ma, and Igor Popovic, ma, as well as the former student of this faculty, Milica Ristic. 

This Festival was organized by the Institution for Promotion of Culture Srem, which was founded with the aim of fostering rhetoric, and secondary school students, university students, actors, lawyers, military and clergy compete at this festival, representing their institutions.
