Professors and Students Visited Moscow

Professors and students of the Faculty of Security Sciences at the University of Banja Luka, led by Vice Rector for Teaching and Student Issues Prof. Strain Posavljak, PhD, stayed during their study visit at the Moscow Region State University in Moscow from 3 July to 9 July 2019.

During the visit, the Faculties of Security of Moscow and Banja Luka and the Faculty of Law of Moscow organized a scientific conference, which was opened by the deans of the Faculty of Law of Moscow Elvira Nadiseva and the Faculty of Security Sciences of the University of Banja Luka Assistant Professor Predrag Ceranic, PhD.

During the conference, there were panel discussions on different topics: Developing Mechanisms for Intra-State Protection of Human Rights as An Indicator of Increasing the Efficiency of Rights; Global Security Today: Contemporary Challenges and New Threats; Mutual Impact of Structural Units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Protection of Citizens and Territories Against Emergency Situations; Participation of the Bodies of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Forming of Security Culture Among Students in Educational Institutions; Characteristics of the Higher Education System in Russia and the Republic of Srpska; Youth to A Secure Future.

Students of the Faculty of Security Sciences of the University of Banja Luka attended 40 lessons of professional practice in the field of security together with the students of the Faculty of Security of Moscow, and they participated in the panel discussions during the scientific conference.

Professors and students were entertained by their hosts in their free time, who organized sightseeing of Moscow for them. 

They visited the New Jerusalem Monastery, Sergiev Posad, Red Square, Zaryadye Park and Kremlin. They also cruised along the Moscow River, and went to see the Exhibition of Achievement of the National Economy.

Professors and students used the opportunity to visit the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, as well as the Pokrovsky Monastery where the holy relics of St. Matrona of Moscow are kept. They also used the opportunity to visit the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

This visit is due to the international cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Srpska, and due to the previously signed Agreement on Cooperation between the University of Banja Luka and the Moscow Region State University.
