The first year of existence and successful work of the 'Dental Clinic' Specialist Center was marked on 19 June 2019.
Rector of the University of Banja Luka Prof. Radoslav Gajanin, PhD, says that the 'Dental Clinic' is an organizational unit of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Banja Luka, which enabled the University to offer services to citizens for the first time as a legal entity from different areas, following the example of universities around the globe.
,,We expect this clinic to be an example of good practice in regard to certain organizational units of the University entering the market“, Rector Gajanin said at the ceremonial marking of the work anniversary of this clinic.
The rector emphasized how important it is that students get at the same time education and practice in this clinic.
Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Srpska Alen Seranic states that this Specialist Center shares its knowledge and that it is a model of scientific and professional development for future dentists.
,,I hope that in the forthcoming period we will have some more innovative activities in the field of dental medicine, and it is well known that dental health can contribute in the field of cardiovascular health“, Seranic said.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Banja Luka Prof. Ranko Skrbic, PhD, said that this clinic provides the best services to patients, as well as additional education to residents who are the ones that will continue developing health in the field of dental medicine in the Republic of Srpska.
He added that the clinic has modern equipment and that up until now it has examined and treated thousands of patients.
According to Dean Škrbić, currently there are 28 doctors who are specialists in this clinic, as well as 18 nurses and technicians.
Top-Quality Services for Patients
Oral Surgery Specialist Dr Mladen Rodic said that oral health of the citizens of the Republic of Srpska is much better than two decades ago.
,,The establishment of the `Dental Clinic`, where patients are provided with top-quality services and residents with education in dentistry and professional development, has led to a positive step forward in this regard," Rodic said and thanked the RS institutions and the University of Banja Luka for recognizing the need for establishing such a center.
The resident in the field of jaw orthopaedics Dr Milan Jevric said that he will spend 36 months of advanced training in the 'Dental Clinic' and he finds it positive that his colleagues and he do no longer have to go to regional dental centers to do the residency.
