In the end of November 2018, 75 students of the University of Banja Luka donated blood on two separate occasions.
On 28 November, the Students’ Parliament of the University of Banja Luka organised a blood donation campaign. On that day, 25 students took part in this activity on the premises of the Institute for Transfusion Medicine of the Republic of Srpska, with most of them coming from the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Political Sciences, and Faculty of Forestry. The next event of this kind is scheduled for the beginning of the summer semester.
This act of humanity was matched on 30 November, when 50 students of the Faculty of Security followed in the steps of their colleagues.
‘I am pleased to be able to help other people in this way. This has been the third time I have donated blood and, hopefully, not the last one’, said Mr Petar Maric, a student of the Faculty of Security.
In view of this campaign, students’ representatives announce future activities.
‘We have reached an agreement with all the students to donate the gifts from the Institute, provided for donors on such occasions, to a charity, so they are not going to keep them for themselves', pointed out Mr Dusko Baskalo, Chairman of the Students’ Organisation of the Faculty of Security.
As stated, they would like to turn this into a traditional event, and thus motivate others to provide help for those in need.
