On 26 and 27 May 2017, organised by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Banja Luka, the 13th International Conference on the achievements in the fields of mechanical and industrial engineering – DEMI 2017 was held.
The participants came from 10 countries and presented the total number of 132 papers from all fields of mechanical engineering. What is different about this Conference compared to the previous ones is that it was co-organised with the faculties from Serbia, Montenegro and Romania: Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Niš, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Montenegro, and Hunedoara Polytechnical University in Timisoara, Romania.
At the opening ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Darko Knežević, and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Prof. Zorana Tanasić, greeted the guests and participants of the Conference, and reminded them of the fact that, since 1998, when the Conference was held for the first time, it had become an internationally recognised scientific conference where engineers, experts and researchers from all over the world have an opportunity to present the latest achievements in the field of mechanical and industrial engineering.
After the introductory lectures provided by the professors from Great Britain, Norway and Romania, the Conference was continued through multiple sessions: production and IT-supported technologies , thermoenergy, mechanics and constructions, mechatronics, car and traffic engineering, quality and ecology, maintaining technical systems and environment protection engineering, and materials science.
As announced by Prof. Knežević, some of the papers presented at the Conference are going to be published in journals in Romania, a journal from SCI list – Thermal Science, and also a special edition of the Fakt – the most prominent journal in Serbia in the field of mechanical engineering, should be issued.
