Professor Ljiljana Banjanin, PhD, and Professor Giulia Baselica, PhD, from the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Modern Cultures at the University of Turin held a series of lectures from 23 to 30 May 2019 at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Banja Luka.
The lectures were for the students of Italian language, and for other study programs at the Faculty of Philology as well, аnd they were organized within the study program of Italian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philology, within the ERASMUS+ project of exchange of students and academic staff from the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Literatures and Modern Cultures at the University of Turin.
Professor Banjanin has been studying Slovenian-Roman literary and cultural relations for many years, and her lectures given at the Faculty of Philology refer to the following: novels and stories by Ivo Andrić translated into the Italian language, Italy in the eyes of Slovenian travelers and travel writers in the 19th and 20th century, the Serbian-Italian literary relations in the 19th and 20th century.
Professor Baselica's lectures were about translation, and the focus was on the translation from Slovenian to Italian language.
In addiiton to the lectures of visiting professors, promotional activities of the University of Turin and promotion of the ERASMUS + project were organized. Two students of Italian language, who spent one semester in Turin, shared their experiences of the student exchange, as well as two students from the University of Turin, who are currently on student exchange at the University of Banja Luka, where they are studying the Serbian language and attending lectures at the Faculty of Philology and the Faculty of Economics.
