Vice-Rector Latinović been to Amsterdam

Prof. Dr. Goran Latinović, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research and Development at the University of Banja Luka, attended the conference on “Social Inclusion: University Policies and Practices”, held at the Free University of Amsterdam from March 25 to 26, 2019.

The conference was dedicated to the main activities of universities regarding the inclusion of students with disabilities and various difficulties, as well as students and teaching staff from minority groups (racial, ethnic, religious, gender related, socio-economic, political, etc.) in the education system.

Besides the lecturers from the European Union countries there also were representatives of universities and ministries from the following: the Republic of Srpska, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Albania, Israel, Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The participation of the Vice-Rector Latinović was financed by the ERAZMUS+ Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and within the project HERE (Higher Education Reform Experts), whose participant he is being the representative of the University of Banja Luka.

Free University of Amsterdam was founded in 1880. The University employs about 3,000 teachers, associates and researchers and about 24,000 students. The annual budget of the Free University adds up to about 500 million euros, with the Dutch government covering about 75 percent of that amount. This university has over 200 study programs in Dutch and English, and is ranked among the top 150 universities in the world by the Shanghai Rankings.
