The Third CELLS conference, promoting the studies in the fields of English language, literature, and culture, was held at the Faculty of Philology on June 9-10, 2017, organized in cooperation with the University of Opole (Poland) and University of Central Oklahoma (USA), hosting three eminent plenary speakers (Dr Biljana Cubrovic, Belgrade, Serbia; Dr Timothy Petete (USA), and Dr Ryszard Wolny (Poland).
Titled ‘Transcending Borders and Binaries: New Insights into Language, Literature, and Culture', it offered new platforms for discussing manners of overcoming borders and binaries in the aforementioned fields, with participants from a dozen international universities presenting their interdisciplinary papers regarding the topic.
Within the conference, the Third Annual Conference of the Society for the Study of English in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held too, contributing to developing and networking of English studies scholars in the country. The Society is a full-fledged member of the ESSE (the European Society for the Study of English)
