On June 6, 2017, Prof. Milan Mataruga, Rector of the University, hosted with his associates the delegation of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina (Serbia) paying an official visit to the Republic of Srpska, comprising of Prof. Zoran Milosevic, Secretary for Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Government of the AP Vojvodina, and Prof. Dusan Nikolic, Rector of the University of Novi Sad.
At the meeting, attended also by Prof. Jasmin Komic, Minister of Science and Technology in the Government of the Republic of Srpska, there were issues of institutional cooperation in the fields of education, science and technology respectively discussed, with emphasis on the cooperation with the University of Novi Sad.
Though very successful so far, this cooperation offers some more niches to be explored, especially with regard to the mobility of staff and students as laid out by the principles of the Bologna Declaration, providing them with an opportunity to spend a semester or an academic year at the University of Novi Sad and vice versa.
Prof. Mataruga expressed his gratitude to Prof. Nikolic for the support provided by the University of Novi Sad in terms of teaching staff at certain study programmes, highlighting the valuable experiences to be gained in the field of university entrepreneurship and transfer of knowledge to the economy. In addition, Prof. Mataruga expressed his gratitude to Prof. Milosevic as well for his wish to support mutual educational and scientific projects, along with institutions of the Republic of Srpska.
