During the visit of the representatives of the BIT group from Graz, Austria, organized by the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Austria and the University Entrepreneurship Centre (UEC), Banja Luka, the members of BIT media management and BIT group, as well as the representatives of both public and private ITC sectors of the Republic of Srpska, discussed the possibilities of cooperation in this particular field.

Mr. Walter Khom, the Director of BIT media, Mr. Stefan Düss, Head of International Relations sector, Mr. Michael Holasek, Head of software development sector, Mr. Mario Milanovic, the director of UEC, Prof. Milan Mataruga, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research at the University, Mr. Miroslav Radinkovic, Deputy Director of the Agency for Information Society, Mr. Slobodan M. Dragicevic, Manager of the IT centre at Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, Prof. Zoran Djuric, from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, as well as the representatives of IT sector companies of the Republic of Srpska were present at the conference.

Vice-Rector Milan Mataruga presented the University of Banja Luka in his welcome speech, emphasizing the importance of scientific research and pointing out the projects the University was taking part in. Moreover, he expressed his gratitude to the guests for showing interest for cooperation.



Walter Khom, the director, talked about the BIT group, which has a thirty-year old tradition in the domain of education, training activities and software platform development, and more than 15 years of experience in consultancy activities and e-learning. BIT MEDIA as a member BIT group with 60 employees and long tradition in international market has become the leading provider of e-learning. Director Khom hopes that after this meeting new opportunities for cooperation will emerge.

The director of UEC presented the paper on the possibilities of creating IT infrastructure at the University of Banja Luka and on the possibilities of investing through public and private partnerships. He also presented more than 30 national and international projects of the UEC.

The representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and the Agency for Information Society presented the possibilities of IT sector of the Republic of Srpska, elaborating their experiences in this domain.
During this visit, a meeting was held with the representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Economic Relations and Regional Cooperation, during which the possibilities of cooperation were discussed about.
